About Us

South Valley Rheumatology was established in 1990 in Sandy, Utah. We have provided consulting and treatment services in the South Salt Lake Valley and surrounding areas.

Dr. Max Lundberg graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1982, completing a residency in internal medicine at the Harbour-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance California in 1985 and completing a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Utah in 1987. He served as an instructor and assistant professor of medicine at the University of Utah until 1990 when he entered private practice, forming South Valley Rheumatology. Dr. Lundberg is board certified by the American College of Internal Medicine and the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr. Richard Gremillion graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1990. He completed an internship, residency, and became board certified in internal medicine in 1997. He served as captain in the US army and was chief of the intensive care unit and department of medicine at Reynolds hospital in Lawton Oklahoma from 1993 until 1996. He completed additional training in a rheumatology fellowship at Stanford University from 1996 until 1998 and become board certified in rheumatology in 1999. Upon completion of his training, he served as a clinical instructor and assistant professor of medicine at the University of Utah until 2004 when he joined Dr. Lundberg in creating south valley rheumatology.

At South Valley Rheumatology, our goal is to diagnose and recommend treatment for "rheumatic" disorders. Some of the more common disorders that we diagnose and treat are:
